No practice on Christmas (Monday, 25 December)

Happy Holidays!  There will be no practice on Monday, 25 December, and regular practices on Wednesday (27 Dec) and Friday (29 Dec).

CMA Labor Day (4 Sep) Practice Schedule

CMA will have regular practice times (5:30am to 6:30am / 6am to 7am) on Labor Day (Monday, 4 September).

CMA team parkas

 

CMA is looking into a group purchase of parkas for the team.  The following details about the sizes and costs were provided by Dale's swim shop:

• Available sizes from XS to XXXL. XXL and XXXL are $5 more.
  

• Prices are $93 for 6, $91 for 12 to 23, and $89 for 24 and more.
  

• Shipping is included. Sales tax of 8.75% is added to the sale.

The parkas will have a navy blue exterior with a navy blue lining.

 

The team logo will be printed on the back of the parka by Boca Rio, but that cost is not included in the prices listed above.  As a result, the total cost will be a little higher.

CMA practice on Monday (21 Aug) canceled

CMA is canceling Monday (21 Aug) morning practice as a precaution for potentially hazardous conditions related to the tropical storm.

CMA apparel order payments

CMA will be placing the order for team sweatshirts (hooded, crewneck) and t-shirts on Monday, 21 August.  To confirm your order, you can send a payment to the club Venmo account or bring a check to Monday's practice.  The prices are $28 for hooded sweatshirts, $30 for crewneck sweatshirts, and $13 for t-shirts with +$2 for 2XL sizes.  Contact Jane before Monday if you have not yet sent her the items and sizes you would like to purchase, so she can update the order and collect the payment.

CMA sweatshirt orders

CMA is planning an order of hooded ($27) and crewneck ($29) "Ash" colored sweatshirts with the CMA design on the back and a smaller CMA logo on the upper left chest in the front.  The CMA design and sweatshirt details are shown below.  Contact Jane if you are interested.  Payments can be made using the club Venmo account.

 

CMA Practice Update: Wed (9 Aug) and Fri (11 Aug)

The main pool (50-meter) will be closed for maintenance on Wednesday (9 Aug) and Friday (11 Aug), so CMA workouts will be held in the instructional pool on those two mornings.

CMA Bonfire Party! Saturday (9 Sep) at North Coronado Beach (6p-9p)

CMA swimmers, families, significant others, and friends will be getting together for a Bonfire Party on Saturday, 9 September, at North Coronado Beach.  See the poster above for details.
 

CMA practice update for Wednesday (19 Jul) and Friday (21 Jul)

Our coach has a conflict that will require her to leave at 6:20AM on Wednesday (19 Jul).  As a result, we must be out of the pool by 6:20AM.  The abbreviated practice times will most severely impact the 6AM group.  The BBMAC is hosting a swim meet (Age Group Championships) on Friday (21 Jul), so we are unable to hold practice on Friday.

CMA T-shirt Order

The team is placing a T-shirt order with a new logo for CMA designed by our very own Jinny Zola.  The background color of the T-shirt will be ash gray with the logo superimposed in navy blue.  If you have interest in ordering a T-shirt or have any questions, please contact Jane.  If there is sufficient interest, future apparel orders may include sweatshirts, towels, swim caps, etc.  Below is an example of the logo:

CMA practice schedule for the week of 3 July

Normal workouts on Monday (3 July) and Wednesday (5 July) but no practice on Friday due to a swim meet.  Enjoy the holiday this week!

Friday (16 June) Update, Practice ends at 6:30am

 Due to an age group swim meet, CMA is required to be out of the pool by 6:30am this Friday, 16 June.

No practice on Memorial Day

 There will be no CMA practice on Memorial Day (Monday, 29 May).

Pool update / heater problems / practice in small pool

CMA was informed that the competition pool (50-meter) is still having heater problems.  As a result, the competition pool will be closed through Friday (5 May).  The team will plan to swim in the rec/therapy pool (5 lanes, 25-yard) on Wednesday (3 May) and Friday (5 May), but the temperature will be 86F 🥵.  The practices will focus on kicking and drills on those days.

No 6am to 7am practice option on Monday, 20 February

Warm ups for an age group swim meet at the BBMAC on Monday, 20 February, will start at 6:45am.  As a result, our only practice option on that morning will be from 5:30am to 6:30am.  There will be no 6am to 7am practice option on Monday, 20 February.

CMA and USMS membership for 2023

With the new year, the BBMAC may ask the club to verify the USMS membership status for club swimmers as required by the club’s pool rental agreement.  If you are already registered for 2023, go ahead and let Rhonda know.  You can confirm your membership status at the USMS website at https://www.usms.org/reg/members/.  If you need to renew for 2023, you can visit https://www.usms.org/join-usms/join-or-renew.  USMS also offers trial memberships at https://www.usms.org/volunteer-central/guide-to-local-operations/lmsc-operations/registration/registration-procedures/trial-membership,  Having the USMS membership information should help the club remain compliant with the facility’s insurance requirements.  Thanks!

We will have normal practice times on Friday, 6 January, but we will be swimming in the small pool, not the 50-meter pool.
